Men's Unlimited Summer Season

1. Games are played under MLB's (American League Rules - DH for the current pitcher only). Also, includes: "Fake to 3rd, throw to 1st pick-off move" and "No barreling into the catcher or any other player".
Exceptions:
1a. No catchers Balk
1b. No penalty for pitcher going to his mouth (not to be abused)


2. Single games are 9 innings, with 5 innings being official.
2a. Mercy rule is 15 runs after 5 innings or 12 runs after 7 innings
2b. No inning starts after 3 Hours 15 minutes from start of game


3. Doubleheaders are 7 innings, with 5 innings being official.
3a. Mercy rule is 15 runs after 4 innings or 12 runs after 5 innings
3b. No inning is allowed to start after 2 Hours 45 Minutes for the 1st game
3c. No inning is allowed to start after 2 Hours 30 Minutes for the 2nd game


4. Tie games can continue, at a rate of $10 per team per inning, up to a maximum of 2 innings


5. Forfeit time is 20 minutes from scheduled game time (1 game)
5a. Doubleheaders - forfeit time is 20 minutes (1st game) & 15 minutes (2nd game)

6. If a game gets called for time limit or any other reason and its less than 5 innings played, the game will be picked up at that point on a later date.

7. A team must have 9 players in order to start or finish a game.
No Exceptions.
Once the 9th player shows, the game begins whether or not your "star" player(s) is present.


8. Use of a courtesy runner is NOT allowed.
*Exception:
8a. Registered Non-playing Managers who are forced to play to prevent a forfeit.
8b. Runner for the catcher is mandatory with 2 outs. *A player not in the game first, then its the last batted out (not to be confused with a last out..i.e. caught stealing, picked off etc.)

9. If a player gets hurt or injured, and you do not have an eligible replacement, then it will be considered a forfeit.


11. A team may use an EH (extra hitter).
11a. If a team chooses to use an EH, thereby starting the game with a 10-man lineup, they must finish the game with a 10-man lineup. Otherwise it will be considered a forfeit.
11b. An EH can be used to play the field - in which case the position player being switched with then becomes the EH.
11c. A player is not allowed to switch back-and-forth from the EH position.


12. There is a no Re-Entry Rule. ANY player whom gets substituted for by a bench player, will not be allowed back into the same game.


13. A player who gets tossed out of a game, will sit during their following team game - regardless of when that game takes place (i.e. same day or a week later)
13a. If a players gets tossed out for a 2nd time during the season, they will sit the following 2 team games and will not be allowed to return until a $25 fine is paid to the league.
13b. If a player gets tossed out for a 3rd time during the season, it will go to the review board - in which case they could face suspension for the remainder of the season, including playoffs.


14. If a manager gets tossed out of a game, they are allowed to manage the following game.
14a. If a player/manager gets tossed out of a game, they are allowed to play & manage the following game unless under the discretion on the umpires, the player/manager abusive. In which case the player/manager can ONLY manage but be quiet.
14b. Any fighting or threatening of an umpire, will result in a immediate suspension and will go to the review board.
14c. If a player is arguing a call on the field with a bat in hand, DROP THE BAT or they will receive an immediate game suspension.


15. Both teams are responsible for getting the field in shape
15a. Home team is responsible for supplying & setting up both the bases & pitching rubber. If assigned home team does not have bases then the other team does - they become the home team.
15b. If both managers cannot agree on whether a game can be played due to the weather or field conditions - then the decision is up to the umpire


16. Team Rosters: Maximum of 20 players
16a. All teams must hand in preliminary rosters by the 3rd week of the season
16b. Any changes and/or player additions, after the 3rd week of season, must be reported to league prior to the Sunday game. Failure to do so, will deem any player ineligible to play, and a forfeit will be incurred by the team involved.
16c. Final rosters are to be submitted to the league prior to the first weekend of June. No additions or changes will be accepted past that deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS


17. Trading players will not allowed at any point during the season including playoffs.
17a. Once a players starts the season with a specific team, he is not allowed to switch and play for any other team for the remaining part of the season including playoffs.


18. All players must be in team uniform w/ numbers, same colors, same jerseys.
18a. Each player must have individual #'s. No 2 players will be allowed to wear the same jersey number at any time, for any reason during the same game.
*Exception: Manager & Coaches only. Does not apply to "player/manager"
18b. Once the the final rosters are submitted, you cannot swap jerseys with teammates, if for any reason, you do not have you're jersey, you will not be allowed to play. 1 assigned jersey and # per player.


19. Teams must give opposing teams their players full names and #'s. NO NICKNAMES. 19a. Record the names and #'s of the umpires before games in order to weed out the bad ones.


20. A position player must have a minimum of 8 games played to be eligible for the playoffs.
20a. A pitcher must pitch in a minimum of 6 games to be eligible for the playoffs.
20b. Position players may pitch during the playoffs, providing they have minimum amount of games played. *Keep the Scorebooks to avoid issues later on.


21. Any team using illegal players will forfeit the game and managers will be subject to suspension pending decision from the review board.


22. All protests must be made within 24 hours of the game played and be filed with a nonrefundable $25 fee *Know & understand the Rules

23. Playoffs format will be determined by the end of July.
23a. All playoff games must go at least 5 innings to be considered official.


24. All types of Wood bats are allowed during the summer season.


25. No metal spikes on turf fields.


26. Umpire fees are to be submitted at the start of a single game, or between games in a doubleheader
26a. Single game fees are $90 per team; Doubleheader game fees are $80 per team
26b. If a game cannot be played because of weather or field conditions and gets canceled while at the field; each umpire will receive a travel fee of $20*.
*If there is only 1 umpire, then each team pays $10 for the travel fee.
*Get to fields early on days following rain, so umpires can be notified of any cancelations in advance to save you money.


27. Teams are responsible for their fans, KEEP THEM QUIET or FORFEIT GAME.


28. There is absolutely NO drinking or smoking(illegal substances) in or around the fields.
Failure to comply will result in ejection of player(s) inlvoled.
